I can't find the cord to upload my photos...

Yeah, I can't find the cord to put more photos on the computer. And I have lots, since we (minus Jared) went up the canyon the other day! Lame. Until then, I wanted to tell you about Nathan's new trick. No, he doesn't turn into a cat (but that would be so cool!). We've been painting his room (it's all done except for the baseboards and doors) so he's had to sleep in his pack n' play out in the loft area. Unfortunately, he's figured out how to climb out of it. Not surprising... yet no less irritating. I keep having to go up there and put him back in. I can't wait till his room is done. At least he stays in his room (usually) when we put him in there, if not in bed.

I just wish I could show you the facial expression he gets when I catch him out of bed. He gets this nervous grin and then quickly runs away while a choked giggle escapes his throat. I want to laugh but I think that would seriously undermine my own authority. I want to be intimidating, not a partner-in-crime. So I work my hardest to keep a straight face until I'm out of sight, and then I try to keep my giggles as quiet as possible. I would try and sneak a picture, but if laughing would undermine my authority, I'm pretty sure taking a picture would make it nonexistent.

Who's the author of this fow ounchinchin?

The title of this blog is sort of in reference to my mom's blog (I don't know what she was quoting) but with Nathan's version of "foul outrage".

Yes. I teach my son to say things like "fat chance" and "foul outrage".

Anyway... in reality, this post is dedicated to food. I took some pictures of Jared making Hoosier Chili so you could pretend to be a part of the magic.

First... he cooked the hamburger meat and boiled the spaghetti noodles. He added some kidney beans...then some spicy taco seasoning (and we told Nathan to stop turning the lights on and off)......then he stirred it up (I caught Jared singing "New Soul" because I had just watched Tyler and Carmen's video and it got stuck in his head. He made up his own lyrics but I can't remember what they were. They were probably about how great a husband he is or Nathan being a tater tot.)Mmmm...
After draining the noodles, he put it all together and added tomato juice. I know it looks kinda weird, but it is tasty. Then he stirred it some more and he was done! Although I may have missed a couple steps/ingredients.After that we ate it. Yum. Nathan had something else, but he did enjoy dipping a few saltines into our chili. I didn't get pictures of that, but here are pictures of Nathan and Rylie hanging out with us that evening.Oh, and a picture of me in my yellow shirt, since Adrien was complaining that she hadn't seen me in it yet. Except it's mostly a picture of Rylie sleeping.

procrastinating...

I haven't posted a real blog in a while because I have nothing to say but "my kids are cute and here's proof". Hm... maybe I'll just do that later. After all, why should I feel obligated to entertain anyone?
Anyway, tangents aside, I was wondering what is it about Asian music videos, anyway?? Here is a small sampling of Korean and Chinese music videos to show you what I mean:

And here's one that doesn't make you want to cry/hide/stare in horror (and it has English subtitles! yay! the girl is so crazy... she cracks me up):
