a wedding

Last weekend we went to Katie and Shaun's wedding and reception. It was beautiful. I didn't take many pictures because among the other desirable attributes I have, I'm very forgetful... but I did remember to ask Shannon to take a few of Katie and Shaun dancing for me, so thank you, Shannon! Other than that, I only got a few of the people at our table, and they're blurry cause I hate how using a flash makes people look... strange. The one of Nathan is him as a ghost cause he really didn't want to stay put; quelle surprise. =)Congratulations, guys!

p.s. oh, here's a music video I heard about... it's pretty cool!

Yesterday

We had a great time with Tom and Beth while they were out here. Hope your flight back was good guys, and thanks again!

huzzah huzzah.

I know this picture is blurry, but I think it portrays well how I'm feeling, and how Rylie's feeling compared to before. She's so much better now! She's finally not as congested anymore - she can nurse again! Yay! She hadn't since Sunday morning, and then she did tonight (Wednesday around 11 pm). I sort of thought it was just going to be another pathetic attempt where we both ended up crying, but she went right to it like she'd never stopped. I know I sound nerdy, but if you've breastfed before (and enjoyed it, of course; it's not the same if it's a difficult experience every time) you'll know what I mean. Anywho. She's doing much better. She's still sleeping in the swing at night, and I'd try to get her in the crib, but I didn't want to upset her in case that wasn't the ticket, plus we're going to Katie's wedding this weekend so she's gonna be a little messed up with the sleeping places, anyway.Today was a wonderful day.

I'll post pictures from our outing with the Grandparents Swinford (hopefully) tomorrow, but we'll be getting ready to drive all night to California, so we'll see...

lately

So Rylie's been pretty sick the past few days. She isn't dehydrated enough to go to the hospital, because she's been sipping juice occasionally, but she won't eat or drink anything else. Actually, scratch that, she had a little of my milk in a cup yesterday. She's either been to congested or her throat is too sore from coughing to either eat or sleep much. We're sad to see her sad, but she's actually been pretty content when she's not crying. She's got such a sweet, happy disposition.
Plus, her grandma and grandpa Swinford are here and they've been helping out! And playing with Nathan, of course. I'll have pictures later.

a baby boy

We were having dinner this evening and when Nathan or Rylie starts yelling, the other one copies them and it just goes back and forth until someone (Jared or me) puts a stop to it. Occasionally we try to use reason (apparently, we haven't learned yet) on Nathan.

Jared: (speaking to Nathan) You need to behave like a little boy, not like a baby. And you (speaking to Rylie) can behave like a baby because you're a baby girl.
Nathan: No! She's a baby!
Me: Yes, she's a baby girl.
Nathan: No! She's a baby!
Jared: That's right. A baby girl.
Me: There are different kinds of babies.
Jared: There are baby boys and baby girls.
Me: When you were a baby, you were a baby boy. And Rylie is a baby girl. Now that you're older, you're a little boy.
Nathan: No. I'm 6 months old.

lunch with my parents

So I was going to blog about this forever ago, but I've been putting it off cause I hate my writing "voice" and I'm busy. So now I'm eating breakfast, the kids aren't up yet and Jared's not up yet so he doesn't need the computer for his real estate class so I'm going to blog now. What a run-on sentence.
So while my parents were out here, we went to Adrien's graduation! Congratulations, Adrien (again)!
We also went out to eat at the Beehive Tea Room in downtown Salt Lake. We tried to go to this place, but silly me forgot they're not open on Mondays anymore. Anyway, the Beehive Tea Room was quirky and kinda fun, although pretty expensive. We all liked our food. I probably wouldn't take kids again, although for the most part Nathan and Rylie behaved pretty well. Anyway, thanks again for lunch, guys!
