the backyard

Here are some pictures of our backyard and the progress we've made with it. Before, after and in between...Jared worked so hard! He tilled the yard, put in a sprinkler system, we had to wait a while because of job changes and that kind of thing, then he tilled it again, helped a couple of guys we know with the patio (those guys were awesome, btw, for doing us this favor!!), went and got three truckloads of dirt, transported it all to the back with a wheelbarrow, shoveled it and raked it out, and laid the sod. This was over the course of weeks (and months)! Good job Jared! Thanks for working so hard to get our yard looking nice!
Anyway, he's very pleased with it. We're not done, ideally we'd love to get a few trees, lots of flowers, and have vegetables and berry vines. (We were even talking about a pergola. But probably not here, maybe in our next house.) Anyway, since it's July we're not going to do all of that planting this year. At least now (or in about a month, anyway) there's a place for the kids to run around and the patio's big enough to put the kiddie pool on it. Yay!
